copy, line, and conceptual. Our editors are successful writers, journalists, and researchers themselves.
For every one of those books, our editors will provide you - the author - with significant constructive criticism.
This criticism is based upon decades of reading and writing experience,
and a deeper appreciation for your desire for absolute honesty. Sometimes, the comments could be perceived by non-writers as harsh but all
serious writers understand the incalculable value of unflinching commentary.
How to send your manuscript for editing
Contact us per email and tell us briefly about your manuscript.
After you have received our acknowledgement email with instructions, send us your manuscript as a Microsoft Word document.
We will later send you the edited manuscript, with all of the
suggested corrections indicated and colored, making it quite easy for you to see all of the recommended changes.
You can then accept the recommendations in total or individually.
The final decision on all changes is always up to you, the author.
The edited version will also include the editors' notes. These notes
oftentimes explain the reasons for the corrections, as well as offering advice based upon years of writing experience.
We also offer book proposal editing.
An excellent book proposal will be the most decisive factor in whether or not a literary agent or book publisher will accept your manuscript.

How much will it cost
Our rates for editing projects are very reasonable, and generally below industry standard rates:
Long manuscripts (most books, screenplays, and business documents): $125 base, plus $0.0075 per word; updates are only $50
Short pieces (press releases, résumés, articles, poetry, children's books, and Web pages): $75 base ($100 if rhymed), plus $0.125 per word; updates are only $35
The rates above assume that editing projects do not involve much research. This is typically the case when the client provides most of the raw material.
For documents requiring the editors to do research work, special rates will apply, in addition to the editing fees listed above. In complex materials, we might offer you
our ghostwriting service. Contact us for additional info regarding the special rates. Rush jobs and priority mailings are available at extra cost.
For every editing project, the base fee listed above must be received prior to beginning work on the project. The base fee
thus serves as a deposit. For payment, send us a check for the base fee, and then send a second check for the remainder after the project is complete.
If you are a repeat client, we will often waive the deposit to save time, and you only need to send the total amount shortly before we send you back the edited book.
